WOMAN OF WEST-AFRIKA
WOMAN & MAN
〜From the Diary on the Journey of Wind 〜
What did I see through the riding on the desert...?
Solitude, assaulting me all the time, despite of ample equipment and food
Go and go, feeling the vast force of the great nature
Engraving ruts on the ripple marks, as if treading on human brain
Tumbling easily at gaps of the smiley Sahara
Searched for was vanity in the wind
I could have confirmed the purpose of getting there
But now, I feel how bold I was.
The Sahara has countless kinds of faces
People with sharpened eyes in the desert said, "The Sahara is beautiful."
It was only them who knew the hearts and minds of the desert
Well, did I just pass the sea of the sand?
Strange, it is.
How much more I can value the time
when I was left free on the land of nothing!
The land of the sun, the sand and the sky, nothing added, tested my power of living
It taught the transient life in the vast and infinite time and space
How much I loved the wind I could taste then!
Yes, for sure, I was trying my best at the very moment
When the journey is going to be over
I may say, beyond every description,
"The desert was beautiful."
